Frequently asked questions

General

Is the Diamond rehab Thailand licensed?

Yes, we are fully licensed by The Thai Ministry of Health.

What about confidentiality?

At The Diamond, we get many high-profile clients and anonymity is our trademark.

Do you offer shared rooms or private rooms?

We only offer private rooms.

What is rehabilitation?

Rehab is a clinical environment where in a short period the client gets detoxed and gets educated through a lot of group sessions and one-to-one sessions on how to coop with life outside. It’s a safe place to share and you will be surrounded by people with the same problems, which helps because you can identify with each other. At The Diamond, we also make a start at working on the underlying issues and make an aftercare plan so you can continue working at this when you go home.

In the afternoon we go for a walk or do meditation at the beach. In the evening there is a non-compulsory entertainment schedule.

How can I help my loved one?

At The Diamond Rehab Thailand we are experts in getting your loved ones into treatment. To start you can show your loved one our website and they will probably soon take an interest in our treatment center. If need be, we also can arrange an intervention at your home done by a professional interventionist arranged by The Diamond Rehab Thailand.

Treatment

What is the process of rehabilitation?

The process may differ, as programs are customised based on what the patient needs as well as the severity of the addiction or mental illness, but the goal of rehabilitation is always to ensure the individual’s well-being. Most treatment programs include: evaluation, detox or the clearing of alcohol and other drugs out of your system, psychological treatments, education sessions, and supportive services. When you transition into outpatient therapy, you may still have one-on-one or group therapy sessions and to some patients, these may last for the rest of their lives.

What is detox?

Detox is getting the poison out of your body. This can feel uncomfortable and at The Diamond Rehab Thailand, our psychiatrist and nurses are specialized in helping you get thru this phase of treatment. Do not detox alone at home, detoxing alone can be dangerous.

What does The Diamond rehab treat?

The Diamond Rehab Thailand treats addiction problems such as alcohol and drugs, we also treat process addictions such as gambling, sex addiction, eating disorders, and gaming. Besides the addiction, we focus mainly on the underlying issues such as depression, burnout, anxiety disorder, etc.

How long will it take?

This depends on the situation. E.g. does the client need a detox? Is addiction the main problem or are the underlying issues more concerning? It is important that the client finish what he/she signed up for. Overall, we advise that 6 -8 weeks in treatment is average and gives the client a good foundation to start a new life at home with the proper aftercare.

Am I free to leave treatment at any time?

Yes, you are. However, we strongly suggest that you stay for the days you signed up for, if you finish treatment the chances of success in the future will grow hugely.

How much therapy do I get?

At The Diamond Rehab Thailand, our clients get 3 group sessions per day, 4 one-to-one sessions per week, one one-one session per two weeks with the psychiatrist. Besides that, we offer a lot of sports, mindfulness, exercise, and outings.

What if support groups and other rehabs did not work in the past?

Some people need more than one treatment. This doesn’t mean that it won’t work this time. You can learn from the past and implement that into this treatment together with your focal therapist and stay clean and sober successfully and content once leaving The Diamond Rehab Thailand. Maybe you were not really open-minded before and you can give it a new go.

Is there an aftercare program?

Aftercare is essential, and therefore we offer two ways to do aftercare. Option one would be that you have weekly zoom meetings with your focal counsellor, who also treated you while at our centre. Option two is that we bring you in contact with one of our aftercare partners around the world, depending on where you live.

What is your success rate?

Success rate is difficult to measure. It depends on the motivation of the client. Staying clean and sober in rehab is not difficult, the hard work will start once the client is leaving treatment and has to face the outside world with all its triggers. One thing we can promise is that we will give our clients all the tools to be successful once going home and provide them with the right aftercare.

Are you a 12-step rehab?

We offer a 12-step recovery program, as well as CBT, DBT, and mindfulness – a holistic approach to recovery. Our main focus is to treat not only the addiction but the underlying issues which are causing the addiction, something which you won’t find in any conventional 12-step rehab.
